On 18 and 19 May, Belaruskali brought together scientists, CEOs of major chemical and agricultural enterprises, representatives of ministries, regional executive committees, agro-industrial farms, and journalists.
The Forum was opened by Ivan Golovaty, Director General of Belaruskali, Vladimir Grakun, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, and Andrey Rybakov, Chairman of the Belneftekhim Concern.
Questions raised by the Forum participants were related to the reduction of certification periods for mineral fertilizers, the possibility of in-house production of new products, including microfertilizers, etc., and their effective use in the Republic's farms.
The first part of the session was addressed by BKM specialists, who spoke about processing of potassium chloride into a premium chlorine-free product and by their colleagues from Umka LLC, who demonstrated the efficiency of their own chlorine-free fertilizers by the example of growing certain crops.
Prof. Galina Pirogovskaya (Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus) spoke about new directions in the development of mineral and organomineral fertilizers.
The second part was addressed by representatives of Russia. The speaker from the Scientific Research Institute for Fertilizers and Insecto-Fungicides named after A.A. Vernadsky (Cherepovets, Russia) gave a paper on mineral fertilizers quality analysis. His colleague from the Perm Research Institute of Agriculture, Ph.D. in Biology, shared his research experience on changes in soil potassium regime indicators during long-term cultivation in the Cis-Ural regions.
SCARB-Bio LLC presented to the Forum participants a programme for optimization of fertilizer application rates.
The management of Velichkovichi-Agro LLC (Belaruskali Agro Holding) shared the Holding experience of implementing the precision farming system with the Forum participants
The introduction of the precision farming is a global trend. Adoption of new technologies by farmers is a need. Any field is heterogeneous by its soil composition, agrochemical characteristics, and relief. Therefore, every part of it needs an individual approach, taking into account the data obtained, as precision farming will allow to save resources, plan and calculate the yield.
The first day of the Forum ended with a visit to the mines of Belaruskali, where all the participants could see the process of potash mining. The second day of the Forum was intended to demonstrate the process of fertilizers and chemical products production at PU 4.
The event ended with a visit to the Museum of Labour Glory of Belaruskali.
