Employees of JSC Belaruskali took part in events dedicated to the solemn date – the Day of Remembrance of the Khatyn Tragedy.
The route began at the memorial complex to Soviet soldiers and fellow countrymen at the Starobin–Mikashevichi road fork. A convoy of vehicles, including employees of Belaruskali, then proceeded along the route: “Memorial Complex to Soviet Soldiers and Fellow Countrymen – Dolgoye agricultural settlement – Mass Graves of Fascism Victims in Yaskovichi Village”, where a requiem rally titled “The Memory Does Not Fade, the Pain Does Not Subside” took place.
Addressing the participants of the commemorative event, the Chairman of the Soligorsk District Executive Committee Anatoly Lodyga said the following:
- “May these voices from the past remind every generation of how fragile peace is, how precious human life is, and how easily all of this can be lost. Our duty to the fallen is not simply to come to memorial sites once a year and lay flowers. Our duty is to raise our children with love for the Motherland, respect for history, and hatred of war”.
The District Prosecutor Dmitry Deshuk also addressed those gathered:
- “When the criminal case on the genocide of the Belarusian people was first opened, it was known that 68 settlements on the territory of our district had been completely or partially destroyed. Today, it has been reliably established that there are 90 such settlements”.
The rally participants laid flowers and honoured the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.
Representatives visited the site where civilians of the village of Khvoynya lost their lives.
Additionally, in every structural division, employees of the Company observed a minute of silence at their workplaces to honour the memory of the victims.
